Eligibility Criteria to open a Shivalik Bank Digital Term Deposit Account

• Person should be a Resident Individual
• Age should be 18 years and above.
• Person should be physically present in India at time of digital application and/or Video-KYC.
• Person should not have a tax obligation to any country other than India (FATCA reportable).
• Person should not be a PEP (Politically exposed person) or a near relative/associate of PEP.
• Account will be opened in Single holding capacity (cannot be a joint account)
• Mandatory Documents Required- Aadhaar and PAN. Mobile Number should be linked with Aadhaar.
• Person should complete the Full KYC confirming to the guidelines issued by the Reserve Bank of India within 1 year from the date of first Digital Fixed Deposit account.

Aadhaar Consent

• I agree and authorise Shivalik Small Finance Bank Ltd. (hereinafter referred as “The Bank”), whether acting by itself or through any of its service providers, to fetch my demographic details from UIDAI.
• I have no objection in authenticating myself with Aadhaar based authentication system and voluntarily consent to providing my Aadhaar number, OTP data and/or Biometric and/or any similar authentication mechanism for the purpose of availing of the Banking Service from the Bank
• I understand that the OTP and/or Biometric and/or any other authentication mechanism I may provide for authentication shall be used only for authenticating my identity through the Aadhaar authentication system for that specific transaction and for no other purposes, or as per requirement of law.
• I understand that Bank shall ensure security and confidentiality of my personal identity data provided for the purpose of Aadhaar based authentication.
• I authorize Bank to verify and authenticate my Aadhaar number during processing my application for legitimate business purposes.
• I submit my Aadhaar number and voluntarily give my consent to:
  • Use my Aadhaar details and authenticate myself through Aadhaar based authentication system for the purpose of establishing my identity.
  • Link the Aadhaar Number to all my existing/new/future accounts and customer profile (CIF) with your Bank.
• I further authorize the Bank to share my Aadhaar related details/ information with regulatory/statutory bodies as and when required.

FATCA-CRS Declaration

• I agree to abide by and be bound by all applicable rules/ regulations/ instruction/ guidelines issued by the Reserve Bank of India (“RBI”), the Common Reporting Standards (“CRS”), Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act of United States of America (“FATCA”) and any other governmental or regulatory authority, in force from time to time.
• I understand that the Bank is relying on this information for the purpose of determining my status in compliance with FATCA (Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act) / CRS (Common Reporting Standards)
• I agree to inform the Bank within 30 days if there is change in information or certification on this form.
• I agree that as may be required by domestic regulators/tax authorities the Bank may also be required to report, reportable details to CBDT (Central Board of Direct Taxes) or close or suspend my account.

Central KYC Registry (CKYCR) Declaration

• I give my/our consent to download my/our KYC Records from the Central KYC Registry (CKYCR), only for the purpose of verification of my identity and address from the database of CKYC Registry.
• I understand that my KYC Record includes my/our KYC Records / Personal information such as my/our name, address, date of birth / date of incorporation, PAN number etc.  
• I agree that my personal KYC details may be shared with Central KYC Registry or any other competent authority.

Terms and Conditions

• The Digital Fixed Term Deposit Accounts (“Digital FD/RD”) offered by Shivalik Small Finance Bank Ltd. (“the Bank”) shall be governed by these Terms and Conditions in addition to the detailed terms and conditions available on the Bank’s website. The customer confirms having read, understood, and agreed to be bound by all applicable terms and conditions. The customer undertakes to promptly inform the Bank of any change in residential address, employment, or other relevant details.
• By applying for a Digital FD (including Digital Fixed Deposit and Digital Recurring/Flexi Deposit) and submitting the required information, the customer consents to provide their name, contact details, and other necessary information for account opening
• The customer agrees to voluntarily provide valid PAN details. The customer understands that account opening is subject to submission of complete and accurate information.
• The Digital TD will be opened in the name as appearing in the Aadhaar of the customer
• Initial funding is mandatory for opening a Digital FD/RD. The Bank reserves the right to prescribe the minimum deposit amount and permitted modes of funding from time to time. The Digital FD/RD shall be considered opened and operational only upon actual receipt of the initial funding along with the required information and credentials.
  The Bank reserves the right to close the account (even if opened) without prior notice if:
  • The initial funding is not received from the customer’s own account;
  • The funds are suspected to be from illegitimate sources;
  • The funding transaction fails; or
  • The funds are not credited/settled in favour of the Bank within two (2) working days from receipt of the account opening request.
• The Bank shall not be responsible or liable for any failure, delay, or error attributable to the customer’s existing bank, payment gateway, IMPS/UPI/NEFT/RTGS systems, or any intermediary involved in transferring funds or creating the Digital FD/RD.
• The Bank shall not be liable for connectivity, signal, technical, or data issues that result in incomplete, incorrect, or unsuccessful submission of the application by the customer.
• Once submitted, the application cannot be withdrawn. The Bank shall not be liable for any technical, data, or other costs incurred by the customer in the process of submitting the application.
• The customer hereby declares that the details furnished in digital application form are true and correct to the best of customer’s knowledge and belief and the customer undertakes to inform the bank of any changes therein, immediately. Any false, misleading, or incorrect information may render the customer liable. The customer herewith agrees to provide the accurate documentation and information for the purpose of account opening.
• Failure to provide requisite documentation may result in rejection of the application. The Bank reserves the right to reject the application without assigning any reason, particularly in cases of incomplete, erroneous, misleading information or non-compliance with KYC norms. The customer understands and agrees that the bank may disclose information about customer's account, if required or permitted by law, rule, or regulations, or at the request of any public or regulatory authority or if such disclosure is required for the purpose of preventing frauds, or in public interest, without specific consent of the account holder/s.
• In accordance with the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) Rules and the RBI Master Direction on KYC, the Bank is required to upload KYC details of individual accounts opened on or after January 1, 2017, to the Central KYC Records Registry (CKYCR)
• Bank reserves the right to take necessary action, legal or otherwise, if it finds any wilful modification/ withholding of information or misrepresentation by the customer.
• The customer agrees to provide the necessary details (Mobile, Email etc.,) as per the requirement at the time of submission of details through the app/webform. The Bank shall not be liable for any loss arising from the customer’s failure to do so.
• The customer consents to be contacted by the Bank regarding account maintenance, alerts, payment reminders, product updates, marketing, and servicing communications via telephone, mobile, SMS, email, or other modes. Such consent shall override any registration under the National Do Not Call (NDNC) registry and shall remain valid unless revoked in accordance with applicable rules.
• The customer confirms that the account is being opened for their own use and that the mobile number, SIM, and device used belong to them and have not been shared with any other person. The customer further confirms that account opening credentials have not been shared. In case of any discrepancy, the Bank reserves the right to block or close the account without prior notice. The customer undertakes to complete Full KYC process through Video KYC or by visiting Bank branch, within 1 year of the first Fixed Deposit opening (for New to Bank customers)and in case of customer’s failure to complete the same for any reason whatsoever Bank shall have exclusive discretion to close their account and the amount shall be transferred into the bank account used by the customer for the funding transaction process or as provided for repayment instruction in deposit booked.
• The Bank reserves the right to cancel the Customer ID and/or Account Number (A/C) allotted to the customer, if the Full KYC verification process is not completed within the allotted time.
• The customer agrees that in the event the application is rejected, the Bank shall retain all documents, photographs, and any other signed documents submitted by the customer through the web application or otherwise. The customer hereby consents to receive communication from Central KYC Registry via SMS/Email on the registered mobile number/email address.
• The customer acknowledges that banking services shall be available only upon successful completion of the customer onboarding process, including verification requirements.
• The customer hereby consents to receive Fixed Deposit advice and related communication through the e-mail registered with the bank.
• The customer is advised to carefully review the entries in the Fixed Deposit E-Advice issued by the Bank and notify the Bank of any errors, omissions, or discrepancies within ten (10) days from the date of receipt. In the absence of any such communication within the stipulated period, the details mentioned in the Fixed Deposit Advice shall be deemed correct and accepted by the customer, and the customer shall not be entitled to dispute the same thereafter.
• The customer understands and agrees that the Bank reserves the right to close the account, mark a debit freeze, or create a lien even after activation of the account if any information provided by the customer is found to be inaccurate, incorrect, or false, or if any discrepancy is identified during ongoing monitoring or document verification, or for any other reason whatsoever, without assigning any reason. In such cases, the Bank shall not be liable to pay any interest on the deposited amount, and the principal amount shall be refunded to the customer’s source account. The Bank shall also retain all documents, photographs (if any), and signed documents submitted by the customer.The Digital TD cannot be pledged or offered as security for any loan or obligation with any other Bank, financial institution or individual.
• The customer agrees that such an account will be subject to regular scrutiny and monitoring from the bank and bank reserves the right to completely freeze/debit freeze/ close the account at its sole discretion.
• In the event that credit to the customer’s repayment account upon maturity or premature withdrawal fails for any reason, the Bank may issue a Demand Draft for the proceeds and dispatch the same to the customer’s registered mailing address by courier or post.
• The nomination facility is available in accordance with applicable laws, and customers are advised to register a nominee for their Term Deposit (TD) account. In the event of the account holder’s death, the registered nominee shall be entitled to receive the TD proceeds, whether on premature withdrawal or upon maturity, in accordance with applicable regulations.
• The customer acknowledges the importance of appointing a nominee and may choose not to do so at their own discretion. In the absence of a nominee, the Bank shall be entitled to retain the TD proceeds until it is satisfied regarding the identity and entitlement of the legal successor(s). For this purpose, the Bank may require submission of appropriate legal documents, including but not limited to a Legal Heirship Certificate, Family Tree certificate, Succession Certificate, Probate of Will, Letters of Administration, or any other document as required under applicable law.
• In case the Nominee is a minor, the name of the guardian to be specified. The customer further confirms that Nominee details submitted online during deposit booking shall be binding on customer.
• The customer hereby authorizes the Bank to act upon any instructions provided by him/her regarding nomination, cancellation, or variation of nomination in respect of the Digital Fixed Deposit / Recurring Flexi Deposit, whether such instructions are given through digital or other permitted modes. The customer agrees that the Bank shall not be held liable for acting in good faith on such instructions, even if any claim is subsequently raised against the Bank in this regard. The customer further agrees to indemnify and keep the Bank indemnified against any loss, claim, damage, or liability arising out of or in connection with the Bank acting upon such nomination-related instructions.
• In cases where the deposit is held singly, and the deposit holder dies, the registered nominee shall be entitled to request premature withdrawal of the deposit. Upon such request, Shivalik Small Finance Bank Ltd. may permit premature withdrawal in accordance with its prevailing policies and applicable regulations.
• The customer acknowledges and agrees that payment of the deposit proceeds to the duly registered nominee shall constitute a full and valid discharge of the Bank’s liability in respect of such deposit.
• Premature closure or withdrawal of a Digital Fixed Deposit / Digital Recurring Flexi Deposit shall be permitted only after completion of seven (7) days from the date of creation of the deposit and subject to the deposit being free from any charge, lien, or encumbrance.
• In case the customer seeks premature closure or withdrawal within seven (7) days from the date of creation, the customer may approach the nearest Bank branch for processing, subject to applicable policies and procedures.
• In the event of premature closure of the customer’s Digital Fixed Deposit / Digital Recurring Flexi Deposit, interest shall be payable at the rate applicable for the actual period the deposit remained with the Bank, and not at the originally contracted rate. Such payment shall be subject to applicable penal interest rates as per the Bank’s prevailing policy. • The customer understands and agrees that the creation of Digital TD shall be the date on which the payment is successfully received and settled in favour of the Bank.
• The customer hereby declares that the maturity pay-out account provided by him/her at the time of account opening are his/her own account details.
• Tax at source is deducted as per the Income Tax regulations prevalent from time to time.
• The customer herewith confirm that they have not opened any account/deposit through Aadhaar-OTP e-KYC verification in any other bank and they will not open any other account through Aadhaar-OTP e-KYC verification in any other bank.
• The Customer acknowledges and agrees that the Digital Fixed Deposit (Digital FD) / Digital Recurring Fixed (RF) Deposit account opening facility shall not be available in cases where the address details retrieved through UIDAI e-KYC are considered incomplete, insufficient, or non-compliant with the Bank’s internal KYC requirements and regulatory guidelines. In such cases, the Bank reserves the right to decline processing the digital deposit application and may require submission of additional address proof or completion of physical KYC, as deemed appropriate.
• The customer agrees that if the Digital Fixed Deposit / Digital Recurring Flexi Deposit account is closed for any reason whatsoever, the Bank may, after exercising its right of set-off (if any), refund the proceeds either by issuing a Demand Draft or by crediting the amount to the sourcing account. Such payment shall constitute a full and valid discharge of the Bank’s obligations in this regard.
• The customer acknowledges that the Bank shall not be obliged to refund the amount to the sourcing account unless it is satisfied, based on appropriate verification, that the sourcing account belongs to the customer. If refund through the aforesaid modes is unsuccessful, the Bank may retain the amount until the customer claims the same, and the customer shall collect the proceeds (after set-off, if any) at their own cost and responsibility.
• The customer further acknowledges that in the event the Digital Fixed Deposit / Digital Recurring Flexi Deposit is not opened for any reason after receipt of the initial funding, the amount shall be refunded without payment of any interest.
• For Limited KYC customers, the maximum amount permitted under a Fixed Deposit shall be INR 90,000 and the maximum tenure shall be restricted to one (1) year. The Customer may convert his/her Limited KYC status to Full KYC status through Shivalik Bank’s Video KYC process or by visiting the nearest branch of Shivalik Bank. In the event the Customer does not upgrade to Full KYC status, the Fixed Deposit shall not be eligible for auto-renewal beyond one (1) year from the date of initial booking. Upon maturity, the Bank shall close the Fixed Deposit and credit the proceeds (principal along with applicable interest) to the source bank account used at the time of funding. In case the payout to the source account fails due to any technical reason and the Customer is unable to provide an alternative bank account for credit of funds, the Bank may, at its discretion, issue a Demand Draft in favour of the Customer for the maturity proceed
• For opening second fixed deposit and/or for opening a digital fixed deposit for more than INR 90,000 and/or for duration of more than one (1) year, the customer must convert his/her Limited KYC status to Full KYC status through Shivalik Bank Video KYC process or by visiting the nearest Shivalik Bank branch.
• The customer understands & agrees that Bank shall process the digital application for creating TD(s) based on information provided by him/her.
• The customer understands & agrees that the TD(s) will be opened with the holding pattern MOP as “Self”.
• The customer agrees and authorizes the Bank for using any method including a token transfer of Rs.1/- (Rupees One Only) into his/her bank account for the purpose of verification. The customer understands and agrees that in the event the verification has failed, the Bank may require other evidence(s) from him/her to establish his/her ownership of the account and till such ownership is established by the Bank, the funding amount for deposit, if received, will be retained by the Bank without any liability to pay interest on the same.
• Customers intending to fund their Digital Term Deposit (TD) account through the available funding facility shall remit funds exclusively from their own bank account. Funding from any third-party bank account is strictly prohibited. The Bank reserves the absolute right, at its sole discretion, to reject, cancel, or refuse to process any Digital TD account application where the funding is received from a third-party bank account, without assigning any reason.
• The customer hereby understands and agrees that in case funds are received and the Digital TD account does not get created, no interest will be paid till 7 days.
• The customer undertakes to complete the full KYC in respect of Digital TD, within 1 year from the date of account opening, failing which the Bank is authorised to close Digital TD without notice to the customer.
• The customer understands that the Bank is obligated to honour all statutory notices related to any account maintained with the Bank including closure of the account with/without prior notice to the customer.
• Customer hereby agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Shivalik Bank from and against any and all liability, loss that may occur, arise from reliance by Shivalik Bank on the information, declarations, documents, images and undertakings, etc. provided by the Customer (on account of them being fake/incorrect/erroneous), the usage of online/offline mode for the Product/Facility application including the details provided basis this Video KYC process or breach, non-performance or inadequate performance by the Customer of any of these Terms, Primary Terms and Conditions or the acts, errors, representations, misrepresentations, misconduct or negligence of the Customer in performance of its obligations.

Video KYC Terms & Conditions

• The customer authorises the Bank to conduct Video KYC, record the video interaction, and capture images of PAN, Aadhaar, signature, and/or other relevant documents for identity verification. The recordings and data shall be securely stored and may be shared with regulatory, statutory, or judicial authorities as required by law.
• The Video KYC process is subject to availability of Bank officials and technical feasibility. The Bank shall not be liable for delays, interruptions, call drops, system errors, internet/network issues, or third-party service disruptions affecting the process.
• If the documents displayed during the video interaction do not comply with the Bank’s policy or applicable regulatory guidelines, the application may be rejected.
• The signature image captured during the Video KYC process shall be treated as the customer’s specimen signature in the Bank’s records. Any change in signature must be done by visiting a Bank branch.
• The Bank reserves the right to reject the application, including but not limited to cases of:
  • Call drop or connectivity issues;
  • Non-fulfilment of document verification requirements;
  • Inability to capture clear images/screenshots;
  • Non-cooperation by the customer;
  • Incomplete signature process;
  • Location outside India, face mismatch, or poor-quality documents; or
  • Any other reason at the Bank’s discretion.
• If the Video KYC process is incomplete or interrupted due to technical or operational issues, the customer may be required to repeat the Video KYC process. Further, even after completion, if the Bank is unable to access or validate the KYC data due to technical or system issues beyond its control, the Bank may require the customer to either redo the Video KYC or visit the nearest branch for completion of the KYC process.

Terms & Conditions for Digital Fixed Deposit booking through Auto FD Set-up

• Customer voluntary agrees to set up a UPI autopay mandate for booking Digital Fixed Deposit basis the frequency set up during the journey.
• The customer understands and consents to maintain sufficient funds in the UPI linked account number for auto-booking the Digital Fixed Deposit when mandate call is done.
• The Digital Fixed Deposit will be auto booked basis the frequency/Amount/Tenure set up unless it is modified at the discretion of customer.
• The customer needs to mandatorily complete the KYC process through Video KYC at the time of first Fixed Deposit opening via Auto FD Set up (for New to Bank customers).
• If it is an existing customer of the Bank, then he/she must be KYC compliant to book Fixed Deposit using this feature.
• The Auto FD shall continue as per the setup of standing instruction provided unless it is modified/paused/cancelled.
• Any change in Auto FD Set up mandate will be effective from upcoming debit date (T Cycle) only if the change is made at least 1 day prior to the upcoming debit date. If any changes are made within 24 hours of the debit date, then that change will be applicable from the next auto debit cycle (T+1 Cycle). For example:- If the upcoming auto debit date with monthly frequency is 15-Aug-2025 and a change in Auto FD Set up is made by 13-Aug-2025 then that change will be applicable from 15-Aug-2025. But if the change in Auto FD Set up is made after 13-Aug-2025 then that change will be applicable from 15-Sep-2025.
• The customer understands the optional feature of choosing “cut -off interest” wherein he/she can mention the ROI (Rate of Interest) slab at his/her discretion and if the ROI falls below the selected slab the FD booking shall be in pause status until ROI is revised or meets the cut -off criteria.
• Any notifications/SMS to customer regarding mandate creation/modification/ revocation will be sent by the issuer bank in which customer holds the account being linked for UPI autopay mandate.
• The fixed deposits booked as per the frequency would be as per the Bank’s prevailing interest rates applicable on the day of booking as updated and available to view by customer on Bank’s website.
• The nomination details as provided during the Auto FD Set-up mandate will be updated in all the fixed deposits opened through it.
• If the customer opts for booking without Nominee details in an Auto FD set-up mandate, then all fixed deposits opened through it would be without nomination.
• If nomination details are modified later, the revised nomination details will get updated in the fixed deposits post successful modification. Any change or addition of Nominee in existing fixed deposits would have to be done individually for each fixed deposit.

Additional Terms & Conditions applicable for Digital Recurring Flexi Deposit -

• The Digital Recurring Flexi Deposit (RFD) is only available for Full KYC customers.
• The Minimum and Maximum Tenure of RFD is 6 months and 60 months respectively.
• The RFD can be opened for a tenure in the multiple of months only.
• The customer voluntary agrees to set-up the UPI Auto pay mandate for automatic paymentof monthly instalments in RFD.
• The customer can invest additional funds (Top-up amount) apart from fixed instalments in RFD, upto 10 times of initial deposit amount with maximum capping of Rs 1,00,000 per month.
• The interest for RFD will be the corresponding rate as applicable for a Fixed Deposit.
• The interest on the RFD will be compounded at quarterly intervals.
• The interest on RFD will be calculated from the date the instalment amount/Top-up amount received by Bank.
• The instalment amount once fixed will not be allowed to be altered later.
• The RFD shall be due for repayment on completion of the contracted tenure even if there are instalments remaining to be paid.

Additional Terms & Conditions applicable for Daily Recurring Deposit -

• The customer voluntarily agrees to set up a UPI AutoPay mandate (for digital onboarding) or a Standing Instruction (SI) from their CASA account (for Bank branch/channel onboarding) for automatic daily deposits into the Daily RD account.
• The customer undertakes and agrees to maintain sufficient funds in the linked bank account to ensure successful daily debit towards Daily RD instalments, failing which the Bank shall not be responsible for any missed instalments or consequential impact on returns.
• The Daily RD will continue to run as per the daily instalment amount set by the customer during booking, unless it is modified by the customer in accordance with the permitted limits.
• Digital onboarding through partner app is allowed for New to Bank (NTB) customers through Aadhaar OTP eKYC. Full KYC (Video KYC) must be completed when:
  • The cumulative amount reaches/cross INR 60,000, or
  • The cumulative amount reaches INR 90,000 (maximum allowed threshold) upon which the Bank may pause further debits until completion of Video KYC, or
  • The customer chooses to modify the instalment amount or initiate a top-up.

  If the customer fails to complete VKYC after reaching the maximum allowed threshold, the Bank may pause daily instalments and the account shall continue without further credits, and payout of accumulated balance shall be made at maturity or as per applicable premature closure norms, along with applicable interest.

• Digital booking of Daily RD through partner app is also allowed for Existing Customer whose Customer ID is under OTP KYC status, subject to completion of successful VKYC procedure and Customer ID being updated as Full KYC.

In the event the tenure of 12 months is reached without completion of Full KYC, the Daily RD shall be suspended for further credits until KYC compliance is completed, without affecting the accrued balance.

• For existing customers booking Daily RD at Bank branches or Bank channels, Full KYC compliance is mandatory, and the SI must be linked to an active CASA account held in the same name as the Daily RD account holder.
• The customer may modify the Daily RD daily instalment amount up to a maximum of 5 (Five) times during the tenure, within the allowed range of INR100 to INR1000 per day, subject to completion of Full KYC and subject to system and policy constraints of the Bank.
• The customer may invest additional funds through the Top-up facility, up to ten (10) times of the initial funding amount, subject to a maximum monthly cap of INR 10,000, in multiples of INR 100, subject to completion of Full KYC and availability of top-up limits.
• Any notifications or SMS related to mandate creation, modification, or pre-debit will be sent by the issuer bank or UPI Payer App linked to the UPI AutoPay mandate and the Bank shall not be liable for any delay or failure in such notifications by third-party systems.
• Interest rates applicable on Daily RD will be the same as prevailing Term Deposit rates of the Bank on the date of each deposit being booked, in accordance with applicable guidelines.
• In the event of consecutive failures of 15 daily instalment credits under the Daily Recurring Deposit (RD) through UPI AutoPay or Standing Instruction (SI), the UPI AutoPay/SI mandate shall be suspended. Upon such suspension, no further deposits shall be credited to the Daily RD Account unless the mandate is reactivated or an alternative payment arrangement is made. The account shall continue with the accumulated balance, and the maturity proceeds shall be paid in accordance with the applicable maturity or premature closure provisions of the Bank, together with interest accrued thereon at the applicable rate.
• The Daily RD interest will follow existing RD norms, including premature withdrawal rules and preferential rates, as including senior citizen and staff benefits, as per Bank policy.
• The Daily RD tenure will be minimum of 6 (six) months and maximum of 12 (twelve) months, as selected by the customer, and repayment will occur on completion of the contracted period, unless closed prematurely as per applicable terms.
• The linked account for mandate setup must belong to the same customer, and daily instalments cannot be debited from a third-party account
• The Bank reserves the right to pause, suspend or stop daily instalments if KYC is not completed as required, in case of mandate failure, insufficient balance, or if regulatory conditions or internal risk policies necessitate doing so.
• The Bank reserves the right to modify, amend or withdraw the Daily RD product offering, including its features, limits, and applicable terms, in accordance with applicable laws and regulatory guidelines.
